April 1, 2010, Nanny Cay, BVI: It seems that a number of the BVI Spring Regatta sponsors have realized what a marketing opportunity the biggest yachting event in the territory offers. This year, as never before, sponsors are offering participants freebies and specials that promote their brands.
LIME is giving away one Samsung B2100. As this phone is waterproof, it should be very popular amongst the sailors. To enter the drawing, attendees must top up $10 or more at the LIME booth in the Regatta Village. LIME has also sponsored this year’s reusable water bottles. One bottle is being placed in each Skippers' bag and then others are for sale with all money collected being donated to VISAR (Virgin Islands Search and Rescue) and Green VI. Clearwater is back for the second year with a tent at the head of A dock providing free water to fill and refill the reusable LIME water bottles.
Sol is offering six lucky visitors to the Regatta Village at Nanny Cay an opportunity to win round-trip tickets to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Participants can enter the free draw at the Sol tent at the Regatta Village Friday through Saturday 4pm-6pm. The names of two winners will be drawn each evening Friday through Sunday. Terms and conditions apply.
Additionally, Sol is providing two high quality items for the adult Easter Egg Hunt which include a first aid bag ideal for the car or boat, vehicle break down emergency kit with jump leads, reflective warning triangles, gloves, small flashlight and more. Sol has also included in the bags given to each skipper a roll of marine absorbent pads that will soak up oil-based liquids such as fuel while repelling water.
FirstCaribbean is giving away two $500 saving certificates. To be eligible to win, attendees must sign up at the FirstCaribbean booth at the Regatta Village between 4 and 8PM, April 1 – 3, and a drawing will be held at 5:30 PM on April 4. Certain terms and conditions apply and this information is printed on the entry form. FirstCaribbean is also providing several premium prizes for the Easter Egg hunt. The ‘hunter’ will find a strip in the egg which will direct him/her to the FirstCaribbean tent to collect the prize.
Four of the ever popular Mount Gat hats are included in each Skippers’ bag and there will be others available to lucky winners of a draw and as part of the prizes in the Adult Easter egg hunt. Also from the distributors of Mount Gay and Heineken, shop at any of the Road Town Wholesale or Rite Way stores, spend $5.00 on any Heineken or Mount Gay product and walk away with the added bonus of vouchers that can be redeemed at the Regatta Village.
All of this, the racing, the spectating, sunrise Easter service on the beach early Sunday morning, the Easter egg hunt for children and adults, the food, drinks, live music, parties and the BVI Spring Regatta Village at Nanny Cay Marina and Resort is the place to be this weekend, April 1- 4.
