It felt like just yesterday when we presented awards to the ‘Best of the BVI’ at Nanny Cay Marina for 2015!

Background
Readers’ Choice was originally created as an entertaining activity to recognise businesses, establishments, and individuals across the BVI, who have made a valuable contribution to the Territory’s wellness and prosperity; this acknowledgement spans a diverse range of categories covering the three areas of our magazine – LAND (property related), SEA (marine endeavours), and LIFE (BVI lifestyle).
Initiating in 2011, each passing year the awards have witnessed an increase in popularity among readers and a surge in competition with the nominees. September 2015’s concluding ceremony at Nanny Cay was a thriving success with a multitude of activities to enjoy, amid the announcement of the winners.

New for 2016
Fresh for our 6th annual event, we introduce our proud in Association Sponsors Veuve Clicquot. We’ve also expanded the Readers’ Choice event so that it’s incorporative of the Virgin Islands as a whole – we are really excited about this development as now each of the categories will unveil three winners:
- Best of the BVI
- Best of the USVI
- Best of the Virgin Islands
Additionally, we’ve created a new category presented by Veuve Clicquot – Business Woman Award. Originally created in 1972 as a tribute to Madame Clicquot, the annual Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award champions the success of business women worldwide, who share the same qualities as Madame Clicquot: Her enterprising spirit, her courage, and the determination necessary to accomplish her aims.
Highly prized and sought after, it is the first international award formed specifically to recognise the contribution that women have made to business life and is now regarded as the ‘Oscar’ for female entrepreneurs and business leaders around the World.
So, for the first time, we are proud to present this Award here in the Virgin Islands.
Nominees are required to supply their name, a 200 – 300-word ‘Elevator Speech,’ including their education, achievements, and a photograph. Judging will take place with a selection of three finalists prior to the final winner announcement at our VIPY RC Awards in October.

The closing deadline for voting is 1 September 2016.
Keep in mind, the longer that nominees are online, the more chance there is for them to get votes so nominate now if the company/individual you wish to see win is not there!
