Zenyatta is a famous American champion thoroughbred racehorse whose nickname is ‘The Queen.’ The vessel is seen as ‘The Queen of Racing,’ hence the inspiration and adoption of the name.
With the Gunboat ethos in mind of high-performance catamaran sailing combined with extravagant amenities, the common phrase often pegged for vehicles—‘built for speed and comfort’—is aptly suited to this vessel.
Manufactured in 2003 by yacht builder Jaz Marine Pty Ltd in South Africa and naval architect Morrelli & Melvin, the boat has reached a top speed of 28.8 knots and accommodates six guests and two crew members to their desired destinations.
In each room, air conditioning, reading lights, fans, and suave-looking fully equipped rest rooms comprise the sleeping areas.
The Master cabin has an office/lounge area and a flat screen TV, and the port hull has a separate walk-in shower, granting a feeling of spacious luxury.

Making certain to facilitate the high performance that the yacht advertises with North 3Di sails, retractable rudders and daggerboards for cruising areas requiring a shallow draft, and a 14’ carbon fibre pure inflatable dinghy with 60hp Yamaha outboard engines, Zenyatta is a smooth cruising experience.

A 100” projector screen that turns the aft cockpit into home theatre and two flat screen TVs connected to a hard drive containing 2,000 movies and TV shows, oblige guests who may wish to indulge their less-active senses; however, for those visitors who seek to explore what a tropical climate offers, watersports’ instruments—SUP boards, inflatable kayaks, wakeboards, and kite boarding gear—are offered.
With the yacht achieving its share of travelling throughout the Caribbean, East Coast US, and the Mediterranean, when not sailing, Zenyatta can be found nestled in the ‘yachting village’ of Nanny Cay harbour.
In an era when the cruising catamaran is a strong preference to the traditional monohull, the more variety offered in the BVI, the happier guests will be, and Zenyatta more than exceeds the wishes of its visitors.
