Friday, December 3– The Planning Authority will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, December 8 to consider a planning application for the West End Ferry Terminal.The public is invited to the hearing, which will commence at 6:30 pm at the West End Community Centre and will feature a presentation by the consultants CH2M HILL and the BVI Ports Authority who will outline plans for the proposed development.

Presently, copies of the development plans and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the project are available for review at the Town & Country Planning Department and the West End Post Office between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Chief Planner in the Town and Country Planning Department Mrs. Marva Titley-Smith is inviting the public to attend this hearing and express any comments in support of, or in opposition to the application.

The Chief Planner is also requesting that persons who wish to speak longer than three minutes to register at the Town and Country Planning Department located on the first floor in the West Atrium of the Central Administration Building by Tuesday, December 7, at 4:00 pm.

Additionally, comment sheets will be available for persons who prefer to make written statements. Written statements and other exhibits may be submitted at the meeting or mailed within seven days after the meeting date to be included in the official transcript.

Comments of this nature must be submitted to The Chief Planner in the Town & Country Planning Department, 33 Admin Drive, Road Town, Tortola VG1110, Virgin Islands.

The public hearing provides a forum for residents’ voices to be heard and taken into consideration as it gives developers an opportunity to share information about their proposal with the public.
The Planning Authority is responsible for ensuring the orderly and progressive development of land in the Virgin Islands.
