It has come down on us so quickly this year, it’s terrifying. It feels like just yesterday when we were handing out awards at The Dove Restaurant for all the great people, places and services that make visiting and living in the BVI incredible—it’s the Virgin Islands Property and Yacht Reader’s Choice Awards 2014 and this year, we’ve made it even more interesting.
With every passing season, we seek to improve this award ceremony so that readers will be granted a comprehensive list of the best of the BVI as voted by you. This year, some of the categories have a slight change in name or have been omitted due to lack of representation, but the overall conclusion should see the formation of a helpful fast-track guide on services to use, and what to see and do.
We introduced nominations this year to improve the process and allow voters to follow who is winning in each of the categories over the period. We also have a brand new category to further cover all the ‘happenings’ in the BVI – Best BVI Activity (Non-sailing, Non-Diving). This addition is due to several recent innovative activities introduced here that tourists and residents are thoroughly enjoying.
The winners of the categories will be published in the October issue with an award ceremony (time and location TBC) and all participants who fill out the survey will be entered in a draw for the prizes above.

Whether you’re a resident or visitor, ask yourself these questions: do the current reigning champs deserve their legendary status? Is there someone getting missed from this vote entirely – someone unrecognised who should be? Who or what has made your life better here in the BVI? Mr Jack Daniels doesn’t count as an answer.
