When one thinks of St. Patrick’s Day, one conjures up images of dressing green, drinking green beer, and enjoying the Luck of the Irish. These are all good concepts. But we at Bitter End have a slightly different take on it. This year, St. Patrick’s Day (Wednesday, March 17th) is “North Sound Go Green Day.”

With that in mind, we’ve planned an eco-adventure for all boat visitors, big and small. On the evening of March 16th and morning of the 17th, litter bags will be distributed to boats on our moorings and on our docks. Then, throughout St. Patrick’s Day, bags of “Beach Rubbish” delivered to our docks can be exchanged for drink coupons, redeemable at the Bitter End Pub—one drink per bag.

Our goal is 100 bags of bona fide flotsam and jetsam (recent galley trash not redeemable—trash czars will be inspecting).

The beaches, shoreline, and mangroves surrounding North Sound and Eustatia Sound are the boundaries (use your dinghy, or walk the shore). And, as “Luck” would have it, a traditional St. Patrick’s Day Party is scheduled for 5:30 pm at the Pub, to celebrate the day’s efforts.

So Dress Green, Be Green, and Come Join In!
