Monday, June 4 – Beginning today, taxpayers on Tortola and Virgin Gorda can make tax payments using credit or debit cards.

Acting Commissioner of Inland Revenue Mrs. Sylvia Moses said: “This is a welcomed feature as it provides taxpayers with an additional choice in making their tax payments. Taxpayers can now present their Visa, MasterCard or Banco Popular debit cards when conducting their business at Inland Revenue”. 

“The Department of Inland Revenue, like other government departments, is taking advantage of the latest technological advances to ensure the public has the ability to use various payment options,” Mrs. Moses added.

Credit and debit card payments will be accepted at the Inland Revenue Offices in the Central Administration Building on Tortola and Vanterpool Administration Building on Virgin Gorda during their regular opening hours between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 pm.

Inland Revenue is a department under the Ministry of Finance and is charged with administration of the BVI tax laws and the collection of taxes, licenses and fees including payroll tax, property tax, hotel accommodation tax, stamp duty, liquor license fees and self-drive motor vehicle rental tax.
