Virgin Gorda’s North Sound is synonymous with luxe living, private islands and a selection of resorts that each provide their own unique and wonderful experience.

Venture a little further to Deep Bay where you will find Oil Nut Bay Marina Village – a full-service resort that is purpose built to be both luxurious and attainable for residents and visitors… with a selection of enticing real estate investment opportunities added in, just for good measure.

Every time we visit Oil Nut Bay Marina Village it’s exciting – just like going on a mini-vacation. As we draw near in our RHIB, the chic and sophisticated resort property comes into view, flanked by Oil Nut Bay’s Ocean and Marina villa neighbourhoods on each side.

We dock just below Nova Restaurant and barely have time to tie up the boat before the kids are hopping in the (very inviting) infinity pool!

Settling in on the sun loungers overlooking the pool and coral reef beyond with a cocktail we check out Nova’s lunch menu that proves to be a challenge to choose from – there is something for all tastes including simple bites, raw food, salads, seafood, a fantastic selection of sushi, shared plates, burgers, a smashing kids menu and desserts to die for.

As we discuss the menu choices, Christian from BVI e-foils is running a lesson for two guests in Deep Bay. It’s a lot of fun watching the couple glide around on their matching red Lift e-foils. In just two hours Christian has them standing up and powering around at speeds up to 20mph. As they return to the Deep Bay Watersports base, they are grinning from ear-to-ear and I overhear one mention “I’m hooked!”.

I had a quick chat with Christian after the lesson and he tells me that he can also rendezvous with charter boat guests to provide e-foil lessons off the back of their boat and rents Lift e-foil boards at a daily rate. Recently the Company also introduced SEABOBS to their repertoire of adventure watersports options (that also includes wing foiling, kayaks and SUP boards).

We sit down for lunch and while the kids power through their spaghetti bolognese, we share the sushi boat accompanied by a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc – as it is brought to the table, the sushi is not just beautifully presented, but also fresh and delicious.

After lunch, the kids head off on a kayaking adventure around the mangroves with their Dad and I grab a flat white from the coffee shop that also doubles as a provisioning store for villa and charter guests, then head next door to Luna Boutique.

The Manager, Lucy is warm and friendly and the store is a plethora of must-have items for the ladies that soon become a ‘need’! Having walked in without anything specific in mind, I settle on a sweet reversible Agua Bendita floral-one piece swimsuit and a pair of platinum OluKai roman-style sandals. The range is extensive and I could get lost in Luna Boutique all afternoon!

I venture across the courtyard to the Deep Bay Watersports store. Apart from adventure watersports equipment and lessons, they have everything the guys will need for their vacation on the water, or day at the resort – Oil Nut Bay branded clothing, top brands such as Hurley, plus dressy shirts, footwear and accessories.

As the boys are still enjoying their kayak tour in the Bay, one of Oil Nut Bay’s real estate specialists arrives to take me on a guided tour of Oil Nut Bay’s newest Ocean Villa neighbourhood, situated just a short golf cart ride away.

In total, there are eight homesites situated on the water’s edge close to Bonefish Beach, a little white-sand beach ideal for families and quiet afternoons spent reading on a sun lounger.

Two of the homesites have already been sold. Of the remaining six – two are turnkey, three and four-bedroom Ocean Villas available for purchase and three are bare lots, upon which the buyer can build their own custom-built dream home.

We arrive at Ocean Villa Two positioned on a homesite that boasts 120-feet of ocean frontage. This stunning, contemporary three-bedroom home is designed to complement the natural beauty of its surroundings.

Every room and living space makes the most of endless ocean views framed by floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors that open fully onto a generous over-water balcony and infinity pool. The villa comes fully designer furnished, ready to move-in. Oil Nut Bay welcome inquiries for Ocean Villa Two at $7,950,000.

All homeowners have full access to Oil Nut Bay’s private resort – from the pool, restaurants, event space, tennis courts and gym to housekeeping, landscaping care, maintenance and much more. All services are closely coordinated through a dedicated Villa Manager. Whether on or off island, you can feel confident that your home will be consistently cared for to the highest standards.

Each Ocean Villa is part of Oil Nut Bay’s exclusive rental management programme, extending the Oil Nut Bay experience to rental guests, while offsetting the homeowners investment.

Oil Nut Bay’s approach to property management ensures that homeowners receive a standard of service commensurate with their level of investment.

Back at the Marina Village, we gather our happy but exhausted boys and start to head for home. On the dock we meet another group of charter guests arriving to enjoy all the amenities the Marina Village has to offer including a dedicated Dock Master with concierge Marina services, top-notch utilities, double reverse osmosis potable water, ice and provisioning services.

The sun is going down as we head back to Tortola. The boys fall asleep quickly and I’m left dreaming of Ocean Villa Two!
